Welcome to Katanna Fiction!

Hello there! Welcome to Katanna Fiction, formerly known as YA Fantasy. The reason for the website change and lack of updates is due to the fact that I partnered up with a good friend of mine named Bhri. She’s always been helpful with writing, and I’ve been wanting to see some of her work. I know she is a good editor—she’s helped with my writing before— so I don’t feel like partnering up with her was a bad idea. In fact, I think it was a rather good idea with how the chapters have been so far. Alas, Bhri is busy with college and other things for now. Once the dust settles, she should be able to do much more. For now, she is sticking to simple editing.

First off, I’d like to apologize for the delay in our website going live. I stayed home from school and wasn’t allowed to use my computer on Friday, so publishing the website had to wait till today. I’d also like to apologize for the lack of updates for the last month and a half or so. Honestly, it does bug me. However, I feel like it was worth the wait to get this partnership established so that we can put out good quality stories.

As you will notice, the website is much different. Instead of the black, red, and white, we’ve gone to black, green, and white, along with new pages and submenus and such. I received comments from an author by the name of Riley Banks (Vampire Origins, The William S. Club), who is a very nice lady, that the white text on a black background was hard to read. So, that’s why there was such a drastic change in the appearance. Rather than editing the site we had already, I created a new one. Why? Because I was too lazy to edit the one we had. It’s difficult to get our website maker (Yola, who is actually quite wonderful. And FREE!) to completely change a website. The fonts and texts come out wrong once you change your page template/design thingy. That, and with me being me, I’d have accidentally published the site before it was finished. Yola also doesn’t have a “Revert to last published state” button, so if I did screw up and publish it on accident, I couldn’t undo it.

That being said, Yola truly is a wonderful website maker. They have a good variety of free templates to use, and the new Style Designer is simply amazing. You can change basically the entire site with it.

Anyways, thanks for checking out the new site! I realize that moving sites and having to re-read the stories is a major hassle, but I hope that you will read them instead of leaving the site completely. As I’ve previously stated, however, re-reading is not necessary. It’s just recommended. We currently only intend to re-word the stories; not completely rewrite them as Dakota was.

Thanks again for being patient with us, and have a great day.

All my best,

            Kate
